Helabet has launched a fully localized online casino in Tanzania, adding a dedicated casino section to its sports betting business. The platform brings slots, poker, live dealer tables and specialty games into the same account.

The site is built around Kiswahili-language access and mobile use. Coverage of the launch says it supports local mobile-money deposits and withdrawals, and is available on desktop and through the Helabet Android app.

Its interface and 24/7 customer support are also available in Kiswahili. The launch coverage says the backend is designed to keep data use low and remain stable on slower 3G networks.

The casino is split into four verticals: video slots, poker, live dealer games and crash-style specialty titles. Helabet also says the platform uses a unified account system, so players can move between sportsbook and casino play without creating separate registrations.

One report described the launch as completing Helabet’s shift from a sports-focused platform to a comprehensive gambling operator in Tanzania. The same coverage said the company used extensive market research before launching the casino suite.

The slots catalogue includes hundreds of video slot games organised by popularity, release date and special mechanics. Titles cited in the coverage include Gates of Olympus and Sweet Bonanza, along with Serengeti Sunrise and Savanna King XL.

The poker room runs on Legion Poker software. It offers cash tables, a daily tournament list and a fast three-player Spins format, with stakes starting at $0.02.

Spin buy-ins start at $1 and the top prizes reach $50,000. The tournament calendar also includes daily freerolls and micro-stakes events with buy-ins from $0.55 and prize pools up to $150 and more.

Cash-game options include NL Hold’em, PL Omaha, PL 5 Card Omaha and PL 6 Card Omaha. A Bad Beat Jackpot runs across all cash tables.

The live dealer section offers studio-broadcast games with human dealers, including Live Dealer Blackjack by Jacktop, Monopoly Roulette from Evolution, Gravity Wheel from 88 Mojo and Andar Bahar by Ezugi. A fourth category covers crash games, Plinko, Gems & Mines and scratch cards.

Regulatory context matters in Tanzania. CMS Legal says online gambling is a regulated activity under the Gaming Act (CAP. 41 R.E. 2019), with the Gaming Board of Tanzania as regulator, and the board’s licence list includes both an Internet Casino Licence and an Internet Sports Betting Licence.

Launch coverage says the casino operates under Gaming Board oversight and includes deposit limits, session monitoring and self-exclusion tools. It also says Helabet requires age verification and presents these safeguards as part of its responsible-gambling approach.

The broader payment backdrop is already mobile-heavy. The IFC says 45% of adult Tanzanians had a mobile money account, and by March 2023 the country had 44 million open accounts.

According to the IFC, annual mobile-money transaction value in Tanzania reached US$56 billion in 2022. The same report says 63% of accounts are used at least twice a month for transfers or bill payments, though 43% of users still prefer to convert balances into cash immediately.

Helabet says it carried out extensive market research before launching the casino suite, and the coverage identifies actress and media personality Wema Sepetu as a central part of its marketing. One report says her role is to reassure followers about security and payout reliability.

The company’s Tanzanian push is also presented as part of a wider African expansion, with the launch coverage pointing to Nigeria, Ghana and the Democratic Republic of the Congo as other markets. It says the same localisation approach is used elsewhere, including Lingala-language support in the DRC.
