EPIC Risk Management, a global consultancy specializing in minimizing harms from gambling, has announced three headline sponsors for its upcoming Player Protection Symposium in New York.

The three sponsors are Entain Foundation US, Sightline Payments, and Sportradar.

The symposium comes out of a partnership between EPIC and SBC Events and will see over 100 high-ranking stakeholders from “casino gaming, professional sports, media, and politics” come together to consider current and future ideas to reduce harms from gambling in the US and beyond.

The invite-only event takes place at the 40/40 club in Manhattan and features keynote speakers and panel discussions from industry big-hitters including CEOs, Major League Sorts representatives, and innovators in the realm of gambling.

Proceedings will kick off with an introduction by presenter Craig Carton – co-host of the renowned Carton and Roberts sports radio broadcast on WFAN (AM).

The headline sponsors are all leaders in their fields for the promotion of safer gambling methods throughout the industry. The Entain Foundation US, is Entain’s charitable trust and coordinates its corporate social responsibility initiatives.

Entain’s Martin Lycka, Senior Vice President of US Regulatory Affairs & Responsible Gambling, will be moderating the “Emerging markets and protecting your brand and the consumer” panel discussion.

Lycka said, “The Entain Foundation US is very proud to be part of the Player Protection Symposium.”

He went on, “The speakers line up is outstanding, the venue iconic and the topics absolutely critical to the long-term sustainability of the US sports betting markets. We look forward to participating and building up on our already blossoming relationship with EPIC Risk Management.”

Sightline is a major digital payment provider for sports betting and casino gaming. SVP, Strategic Development and Government Affairs, Jonathan Michaels will be taking part in the “Innovation in Responsibility” panel discussion.

Omer Sattar, Co-CEO of Sightline Payments, is delighted for the organization to take part in the symposium. He commented: “Sightline is proud to sponsor the inaugural Player Protection Symposium and commend EPIC Risk Management for hosting this important event.”

Welcoming the chance to finally get everyone together, Sattar continued: “While legal, regulated gaming has continued its expansion, particularly online sports betting and online casino, the pandemic robbed us of the ability to bring together key stakeholders for discussions around best practices for protecting players.”

“We are pleased to have the opportunity to discuss the critical role that payments can play with leaders from media, sports, the gaming industry, regulators and player advocates.”

Sportradar is a world-leading sports data and technology company. Its Head of Government Affairs US, Brandt Iden is another panelist on the emerging markets and consumer protection discussion.

Iden emphasized the importance of safer gambling ecosystems: “It’s an exciting time for our industry as a majority of states have taken legislative action to make sports wagering a reality. However, with new offerings comes the increased need for industry leaders and lawmakers to help protect those most vulnerable to addiction.”

He also expressed gratitude at being involved in the event, and acknowledged the caliber of those involved saying, “This symposium brings thought leaders together from throughout the industry and Sportradar is honored to be involved.”
