Endorphina has gone live on iFortuna.sk in Slovakia, extending the Prague-based B2B slot developer into a regulated market that has been open since 1 March 2019. The company said the move marked its 54th regulated jurisdiction.
According to the European Gaming report, Zdeněk Llosa, Endorphina’s head of sales, described the Slovak entry as an important milestone for growth in Central Europe and said the firm was proud to partner with a trusted operator with a strong local presence.
iFortuna.sk is the Slovak brand of Fortuna Entertainment Group, which operates across five markets: the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Romania and Croatia. Fortuna Entertainment Group employs more than 6,000 people.
Slovakia’s gambling framework changed with Act No. 30/2019 Coll., passed by parliament in December 2018 and due to come into force on 1 March 2019. The law broadened remote gambling beyond fixed-odds betting to include casinos and gaming-establishment games, and it allowed foreign operators based in another EU member state to apply for a gambling licence for the first time.
CMS says online gambling is a regulated activity in Slovakia, but operators still need a local presence. An operator established elsewhere in the EU may also be licensed if it has a Slovak-seated and registered representative.
The Gambling Regulatory Authority, known as URHH, requires all third-party software to undergo independent certification before deployment on a licensed platform. That covers RNG integrity, return-to-player percentages and responsible gambling safeguards.
The regulatory backdrop sits alongside a market that grew strongly in 2024. URHH recorded a 29.9% year-on-year rise in online casino revenue to nearly €476 million, and the European Gaming article said online casinos held the largest market share of any vertical in Slovakia’s domestic market. Total gambling turnover across all formats reached €24.2 billion.
